Message Highlights

  • Point 1: Rev. Pierce unpacked Jesus’ startling words in Luke 12:49, “I have come to bring fire on the earth.” He explained that this “fire” represents the purifying, refining, and sometimes divisive nature of God’s truth entering the world, forcing a choice.
  • Point 2: Using Luke 12:54-56, Rev. Pierce challenged us. Just as we can predict the weather by looking at the sky, we must learn to interpret the “present time.” We are called to see where God is at work and understand the urgency of His kingdom.

Reflection

Luke 12:56, “…how is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?” really stood out. This verse, in the context of the message, served as a powerful reminder. It’s easy to get caught up in the routines of life and miss what God is doing right in front of us. It urged us to wake up, pay attention, and seek God’s perspective on our world and our lives.

Weekly Challenge

This week, reflect on Luke 12:54-56. As you read the news or go about your day, pause and ask God: “Lord, help me to interpret this present time. What are you showing me? How do you want me to respond?”
