Overview

Welcome, church family! What an uplifting time of worship we shared this Sunday. The presence of the Spirit was truly felt as Rev. Greg McEwen delivered a powerful and thought-provoking message, “Hide and Seek,” based on our reading from Colossians.

Message Highlights

Rev. McEwen unpacked the rich imagery found in Colossians 3:1-4, connecting it to the theme “Hide and Seek.”

  • Point 1: Seek Things Above: Rev. McEwen urged us to actively “seek” the things above (Colossians 3:1-2). Instead of getting lost in the temporary worries and distractions of this world, we are called to intentionally set our hearts and minds on Christ, who is our true north and eternal hope.
  • Point 2: Hidden in Christ: He then beautifully explored what it means that our “life is now hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). This isn’t a game of hiding from God, but a promise of being securely hidden in Him. We find our true identity, purpose, and safety in our unshakeable relationship with Jesus.

Reflection

That phrase from Colossians 3:3, “…your life is now hidden with Christ in God,” really struck a chord. It’s a profound comfort to know that no matter what challenges we face, our true self—our eternal life—is secure, protected, and cherished in Christ. It’s not lost or vulnerable; it’s hidden in the safest place in the universe.

Weekly Challenge

This week, let’s practice “seeking things above.” When you feel overwhelmed by earthly concerns or daily stresses, take a moment to pause, pray, and intentionally shift your focus to Christ. Remind yourself that your true life is hidden and secure in Him (Colossians 3:3-4).

Closing

We’re so glad you joined us for this weekly reflection! Carry the peace of knowing you are “hidden with Christ” into your week. We pray it encourages and strengthens you.
