Message Highlights
The message centered on the powerful final words of the Apostle Paul, encouraging us to finish our race strong.
-
Point 1: Finishing the Race with Faith — Pastor McEwen spoke movingly about the importance of perseverance, using 2 Timothy 4:7 (“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”) to show that our focus should be on keeping our covenant with God through every trial.
-
Point 2: A Crown of Righteousness Awaits — We were reminded that our faithfulness in the midst of testing is not unnoticed. Paul’s certainty of receiving his reward (2 Timothy 4:8) encourages us to look past our present circumstances and anticipate the great reward of God’s presence.
Reflection
2 Timothy 4:6, “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near,” offers a profound challenge. It reminded us that our lives are meant to be poured out in service and love for Christ. Though Paul faced suffering, he viewed his life as a sacrificial offering, which prompts us to ask: Are we pouring out our lives daily for God’s glory?
Weekly Challenge
This week, reflect on 2 Timothy 4:7 by identifying one ‘test’ you are currently facing and intentionally seeking God’s guidance on how to turn it into a ‘testimony’ that points others to His power.
